Advisement
The Department of Educational Administration and Secondary Education and the academic content department participate in co-advisement, meaning the student has an advisor in both the content and education departments. Students receive information about the Secondary Education major and their education courses from the Department’s Coordinator of Secondary Education and professors. Guidance regarding content courses and College Core courses is provided through the content departments. Courses taken in the junior and senior years are intentionally designed, planned, and scheduled by faculty and advisors in the content areas and the School of Education to ensure student mastery of the content major, knowledge of pedagogical principles, and competence in best practices of instruction.
